(Ring Fitting 101)
For everyone planning a last-minute proposal and is unsure of their partner's ring size, or simply for anyone looking to resize a ring, we have gathered useful information that will come in handy. And remember to share it with anyone who might be needing this!
If you have a well-fitting ring, take it to the store, and we will determine the exact size using a ring mandrel and a metal ring sizer.
Too loose: Although your ring should slide on easily, it should not move around.
Too tight: Obviously, it must also pass through the knuckle!
Perfect fit: A proper fitting ring should slide over your knuckle with a little friction and fit snug on your finger.
BUT! If your ring size is a little off on your beautiful new engagement ring, don't worry! Resizing is quite common. So, if the ring doesn't fit, it is time to head back to the jeweller to have it resized.
There we can double check your finger size before we send the ring back to resizing. At maximum it will take 2 weeks to get it done depending on the intricacy of the design/style.
All metals can be resized with ease however certain ring styles like a full eternity are very difficult to resize and some jewellers may not even want to risk attempting to alter the ring size.
HACK: Obviously, our recommendation will always be to wait until you have your ring resized. However, if your ring is loose and you're in a hurry to wear it before taking it to the jeweller, there are invisible ring adjusters available online that snap onto the band that can do the trick until you get things properly sorted.
In summary, to you guys, we say don't be discouraged and get on one knee even if you don't have the exact measure of your partner's finger. And to you girls, don't be scared because here at Harmony Jewels, we've got you covered!
